Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert an annual salary to an hourly rate?

Divide the annual salary by the number of working hours per year. The standard UK calculation uses 52 weeks minus statutory holiday (5.6 weeks) = 46.4 working weeks. Multiply by your hours per week to get annual hours, then divide the salary by that figure.

How many working days are there in a UK year?

The UK statutory minimum is 28 days holiday per year (including bank holidays) for a full-time worker. A standard working year has approximately 253 weekdays, minus 8 bank holidays = 245 working days (before annual leave).

What is the UK National Living Wage in 2024/25?

The National Living Wage for workers aged 21 and over is £11.44 per hour from April 2024. The National Minimum Wage rates vary by age group. Always check the current HMRC rates as they are updated annually in April.
